Lisa Blas is a visual artist of Guamanian / Italian-American descent working in painting, photography, and installation. Her professional experience as an archivist helps her find links from art history, photography and current events, across timelines and subjects, and re-structure them as if in an information network. She attempts to make constellations where an image or event from the past has the potential to re-position itself in the contemporary moment, in patterns of repetition and incidents of deja-vu.
