Sormeh Saei was born in Tehran and experienced the highly emotional turmoil of the post-revolutionary days in Iran until her family moved to the Bronx when she was 10 years old. Her acrylic paintings encapsulate a variety of subjects captured in a delicate nature and infused with abstract and Pop Art. A recent series juxtaposes American rock music icons with their mirror images. Her artwork reflects her journey through life as a bi-cultural experience.
