Zely Smekhov, graduate of the Surikov Arts Institute in Moscow, is recognized for his two series Jesters and Masks and Dances. Engaging in multiple genres of paintings and easel graphic works, he has also worked in etching, linoleum engraving and lithography. Residing in Israel since 1991, his paintings include urban landscapes, scenes of everyday life and portraits. His works are exhibited in Russian museums and in private collections in Russia, Canada, United Kingdom, United States and Israel.
